In a repeat of last seasons division 2 cup final, holders County Officers C were quietly confident of defeating Groves D but with Lynsey Pellew-Nabbs in unstoppable form the Ellesmere team took the match to 4 4 and won the deciding doubles 13-11 in the fifth! Elsewhere in this section Gareth Hughes led Barrow B to an emphatic quarter final victory over their own C squad, and Barrovians returned from Tarporley with a comfortable 5 1 scoreline.

Division 1 also produced a memorable cup tie with Newton C returning to play the same Groves C trio who had defeated them 9 1 the previous week in the league. However with Suzanne Burgess in top form the Newton team took the match to an unexpected decider and Jeff Sharples and Simon Watts came back from 2 games down to win the doubles and the tie 5 4, a remarkable turnabout.

Favourites County Officers A comfortably defeated a strong Newton B team 5 1, and a rejuvenated Beechwood side emphatically outpointed Saughall Deva by a similar score. Elsewhere Groves A welcomed back Steve Clift following injury and they reached the semis following a 5 2 win over Groves B.

In a Premier cup tie Barrow outpointed a weakened Pulford side 6 1 to reach the semi final stage.
