Saughall Deva are fighting to avoid relegation from division 1 and an in form Wayne Taylor led them to an important 6 4 victory at fourth placed Groves B. Their position was helped by fellow strugglers Beechwood being completely outplayed by County Officers A, led by Andy Barlow and Neil Ayling, resulting in a 10 0 loss. Third from bottom, Groves C, eased their plight by holding league leaders , County Officers to a narrow 6 4 defeat thanks mainly to Mike Moss who continued his fine run of form. Elsewhere John Allera led title outsiders Barrow A to an emphatic 8 2 success over Groves A and have matches in hand.

In the Premier division Shaun Hall led Newton to a comfortable 7 3 victory over Pulford B for whom Joe Cutts recorded two fine wins, and Groves were held to a draw by an under strength Newton A trio for whom Roger Lee hit a maximum.

Martin Dodd was undefeated as Barrow B defeated a sporting Tarporley side 9 1 in a division 2 fixture, and John Rowland hit a fine maximum for Barrovians as they overcame County Officers D 7 3.

Veronica Nicholas was in fine form for division 3 leaders Barrow C and she led them to an emphatic 9 1 win over lowly Officers G as they battle to stay ahead of close rivals Saughall Institute. Brian Kelly led bottom placed Electric Sports A to a welcome victory at Groves E, and Brian Wareing was in top form as Barrow D outpointed Officers F 7 3.
