Division 1 leaders Groves B suffered a heavy 8 2 defeat at the hands of their own A side led by in form Steve Clift and Graham Boyd and a number of teams are closing in at the top of the table. Alan Rigby hit a fine maximum as County Officers A stuttered to a narrow 6 4 win over bottom placed Newton C for whom Simon Watts recorded a morale boosting singles success over in form Andy Barlow, and Beechwood continued their fine run with a hard earned draw away at Groves C. Phil Beech and John Bowen hit two wins apiece for the visitors.
Premier division leaders, Barrow, stormed to an emphatic 10 0 victory away at Groves with talented Jonathan Taylor and Aaron Beech backing up captain Rob Wylie whilst student Connor Climo was another unbeaten player as Newton A outpointed County Officers 8 2 to move into third position in the table.
Saughall Port continue to set the pace in division 2 following a terrific 9 1 success over Officers D, Ade Fagbire hitting a fine maximum for the villagers. Rivals Barrovians returned from Tarporley with a slightly disappointing 7 3 result with Steve Wright hitting two terrific wins for the home side, and Tony Collard was another player in good form as he led Officers C to a comfortable 7 3 success away at Barrow C. Struggling Electric Sports received an unexpected boost when both Andy Moulton and Jack Auckland hit three wins each at top four side Barrow B and returned with an unexpected 6 4 victory.
The only division 3 result to hand saw top of the table Officers E comfortably outpoint bottom side Electric Sports A 9 1 with Bill Wood hitting a terrific maximum.
