The top match in division 1 saw unbeaten Newton B narrowly out point rivals County Officers A 6 4 with Mike Mercer maintaining his 100 % record. He was ably backed up by North Wales youngster Matty Fox in a match of good quality and the title is still undecided. Elsewhere in this section Steve Clift ensured Groves A recorded a narrow 6 4 victory over Beechwood and Peter Cottam was in top form for Groves B in their win over a hard working Saughall Deva side by a similar scoreline. Newton C eased away from the relegation area with a fine 7 3 win over County Officers B, Simon Watts continuing his much improved form of late.

The only Premier fixture saw the welcome return of John Chan to the Pulford A ranks and he promptly hit a fine maximum in his teams 8 2 victory over Barrow A.

In division 2, despite a fine performance by Bryan Fitzpatrick , Saughall Port moved a little closer to the title with a 7 3 success at Barrow C whilst rivals and challengers Barrovians eased past lowly Officers D 8 2, John Rowland hitting a fine maximum. Lynsey Pellew-Nabbs ensured that there was no joy for Tarporley as she led Groves D to an emphatic 8 2 victory, the village team remain bottom.

Giles Cadman ensured Groves E narrowly outpointed Officers F in division 3 and Barrow D continue to climb the table following a comfortable 7 3 victory at home to Officers G.

In the Veterans Lancs/ Cheshire division 1 the A team returned from Lancaster/ Morecambe with a creditable draw and Andy Taylor led the B squad to a fine 7 3 success over the Wirral in a division 2 fixture.
