It was cup week in all four divisions and there were some very close and surprising results.  In the all County Officers Premier clash Mark Simpson led the B team to a brilliant 5 4 victory over the first team, and  elsewhere John Chan captained Newton A, and with teammates Stuart Deaden and Mariusz Piechota defeated a strong Groves squad 7 0!

In division 1 cup matches Dave Ash led the rejuvenated Saughall Port squad to yet another victory, this time 5 1 against  County Officers C, and Groves B gained quick revenge on Newton B with a 5 2 scoreline.

Division  2 highlights included an emphatic 5 0 victory for favourites Newton C over shell shocked Barrow C, and a  5 2 win for holders Barrow B over talented Officers D. Gareth Hughes was in unbeatable form for the villagers. Elsewhere Newton D managed to lose all 3 doubles games against Groves D yet  still,  unbelievably, reached  the semis with a 5 4 scoreline. Oong Lee continued his improved form and won both vital singles.

Kelsall quickly went 2 down to in form Andy Davies in their division 3 clash against Officers F but captain Veronica Nicholas led a terrific revival with 2 doubles and a singles win to turn the match around and secure a  5 4 victory. They are joined in the semis by Saughall Institute, led by Bob Salisbury, who defeated a sporting Officers G trio 5 2.
