Division 1 is proving to be a very competitive league with three of the four matches played last week ending as draws. Groves C remain in pole position and maintained their unbeaten record but were held to 5 5 by an experienced Saughall Deva trio. Steve Clift once again hit a maximum as Groves A were held by Barrow A and Hong Wang ensured Saughall Port shared the spoils with Groves B. Elsewhere Charlie Cooke led newly promoted Officers C to a first win, a 7 3 victory over Beechwood.

In the Premier Division talented Nathan Bradshaw ensured Groves held Officers A to a draw, but in a later match Jens Andersen led Officers first team to a 7 3 victory over the Ellesmere  Port squad. Mark Simpson defeated  experienced Phil Luxon in 5 close games to set up a win for Officers B over bottom placed Newton A but  in the last game of the evening Barna Kustan had other ideas and brilliantly attacked Mark to earn a spirited draw for  his team.

Groves D emphatically outpointed a weakened Officers D side 9 1 to head division 2 and Officers E recorded a welcome victory on an adjoining table, 7 3 over Newton E, whilst  Andy Edwards hit a fine maximum for contenders Newton C.

Tarporley Electric A top division 3 following a good 6 4 result over a strong Barrow D trio, Russell Hunt unbeaten, and Tony Collard was in top form leading Officers F to an important 6 4 victory away to Saughall Institute.
