In division 1, current ladies champion Polina Petrova, together with team captain Dave Ash, led Saughall Port to a tremendous 9 1 victory over County Officers C, and top spot in the league table. Last week new signing Richard Thom hit a maximum  for the Port squad as they narrowly outpointed rivals Saughall Deva. Mike Mercer and Gary Owen were both in fine form as Newton B continued their unbeaten start with a 6 4 win over Groves B, and Mike Moss returned to the ranks of Groves C and ensured they shared the points with the experienced Beechwood trio.

In division 2 Groves D outpointed Officers E 7 3 with each of their team hitting two wins, and Martin Dodd was in unbeatable form as they emphatically defeated a sporting Newton D team 8 2.

In division 3 Kelsall included debutant Ian Oakes from the Mid Cheshire top flight  in their opening league fixture and he and Maz Goralski both hit maximums as they defeated a more than useful Tarporley Electric A trio 6 4. In a later match Russell Hunt and  Steven Wright led Tarporley to a comfortable home victory, 8 2 over Officers G. Another debutant was Wirral player Peter Millar and he proved far too strong as he led Groves E to a 7 3 win over Officers H.

The only Premier result to hand saw Newton defeat their A team 10 0 in a match that was not reflected by the scoreline. Stuart Dearden fought hard for the losing side as did the Kustan brothers, Barna and Sebi, but without reward.
