MATCH REPORTS WEEKENDING 17 AUGUST 2018

Beaumont Nomads B with a 7-3 victory over their rivals Hartlepool Westbourne B, have taken a 9 point lead at the top of Division 2 of the Cleveland & District Summer Table Tennis League.   

Geoff Howe and Malcolm Noble were the stars for Nomads, both scoring hat tricks while Sam Hugill won one. 

Gary Pearson and Andy Greason both won one each for Hartlepool and the pair combined to win the doubles. 

The closest set was Malcolm Noble against Andy Greason where the Nomads B player recovered to take the last three games 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7.  Gary Pearson also went to 4 games with Malcolm Noble. 

This result makes Westbourne B's hopes for the title more difficult as they now trail the leaders by 12 points, although they have a match in hand.   

One of the main rivals are Nunthorpe B who have a match in hand but trail Beaumont by 9 points.  Northfield A are in strong contention, they trail by 13 points but have 4 matches in hand to make up the difference.
