End of year report for Division 1

Nearly all of the matches scheduled for the first half of the season have now been completed in D1 with just one to be rearranged.  Most improved team is Essex Uni who have moved steadily up the table from bottom after week 1 and now share 3rd place with Rowhedge E. In their last 2 matches they went home with 17 points out of the 20 available against the combined Walton teams, with Matt Horrocks taking 2 maximums, including a notable treble against Messrs Dearman, Rice and Binns. Dedham A finished their final 2 fixtures even more strongly, managing 19/20 against Lawford B and Tollgate C to hit second place in the table, losing only the doubles in the latter encounter. Pegasus A remain the team on top however, after a 9-1 home win over bottom of the table for Christmas Rowhedge D.  Neil Huatan resisted strongly but Whiteside, Laing and Elloy kept the Marks Tey based team 7 points clear on 71 points. Walton A still have an unplayed game to close on the other challengers.

3 teams are tied on 34 at the lower end of the table and Lawford B, Walton B and Rowhedge D will all be trying to make up ground next year on those who are 6/7 points ahead of them. 2014’s reverse fixtures are eagerly anticipated!
