Close encounter of third player missing kind

Walton A v Rowhedge D looked a little lopsided as only Oli Reynolds and Neil Huatan were available to face a strong Walton A made up of Dave Binns, Colin Dearman and Derek Willis. Despite conceding 3 by default, there was nothing to choose between the teams by the end of the evening as each of the away pair chalked up 2 wins apiece, adding the doubles for good measure! Derek  Willis played his customary immovable object role but kudos to the away team of 2  for leaving with a draw.

Walton’s B team encounter with Tollesbury A produced another draw in this well matched division as Paddy Gilbert’s 3 was  countered by a pair each from Pauls Woolnough and Newbold. Meanwhile Horkesley’s Ken Lewis was on top form to claim 3 victories against a Tollgate side including  Martyn Green, and St James’s C’s John Hatley and Paul Hume also each remained unbeaten in their teams 6-4 win at Dedham A.  St James C now top the table with 33 points after their rearranged fixture with Gt Horkesley C ended in an 8-2 win for the home team, with Sam Hume emulating his brother’s maximum to take player of the match.
