With Gt Horkesley and Tollgate dominating the top division for the past couple of seasons, could the 2014/15 season be the one which changes that trend? Well Rowhedge C seem to be making a good go of it after brushing their ‘A’ team aside with a 9-1 thrashing. With all but 2 games being won in 3 sets, David Moss was the only victor for Rowhedge A, beating Alan Burgess 3-0. Gt Horkesley A beat their closest rivals Tollgate A 7-3, albeit Andy Warner winning all three games for the Tollgate club. Tollgate B edged out Pegasus A 6-4 in the other game played in the week.
Only 8 points separate the top 4 teams in Division One. Rowhedge D are closing in on the top after beating St James B 9-1. Walton A beat Tollgate C 7-3, however Dedham A lost 8-2 to Walton B. Gt Horkesley C helped their chances of survival after beating Tollesbury A 8-2, with Steve Holland winning all three after playing up for Horkesley.
Division Two looks set to be a two-horse race for the top spot. Lawford A move top after beating Gt Horkesley F 8-2. Graham Mortimer was the only player to receive a maximum. This pushes Gt Horkesley F into some danger near the bottom of the table as Gt Horkesley E have 2 games in hand and only lie 2 points behind. There were also wins for Rowhedge G and Pegasus C.
The biggest win in Division Three this week came between Tollesbury B and Gilberd B. Tollesbury made amends for their heavy loss last week winning 9-1. Pegasus F had Steve Noble playing for them and won 8-3 against Lawford C. Pegasus E beat Gilberd A 6-4.
Rowhedge I keep getting stronger in Division Four, after overcoming their ‘H’ team 9-1. Jarecki Sahaj with the only point for Rowhedge H. Another 9-1 victory was on the books for Rowhedge J against Gt Horkesley G. Cameron Simpson and Jane Young with fine maximums for Rowhedge.
