As weeks pass in the Colchester & District Table Tennis League, two teams continue to dominate Division Two – Tollgate D and Pegasus C. Tollgate D stay top thanks to an 8-2 victory over Rowhedge G. Tom Elder was on fine form once again, winning all of his games. Elder has now won 14 out of 15 games played. Pegasus C are five points behind after beating Lawford B 6-4. Gt Horkesley D face a battle to stay in the division as they lost 7-3 to St James D. Roger Warren did well to win all three points for Gt Horkesley. Tollesbury B recorded a good 6-4 win over Gt Horkesley C. This result leaves Tollesbury 4th and one point behind Gt Horkesley.
In Division Three, Rowhedge H picked up a valuable 10-0 win against the Gilberd A to move within two points of the top-placed team, Lawford C. Morgen Bardell, Ken James and Lauren James were the players who brushed aside the Gilberd. Pegasus E beat Pegasus F 9-1 to move up the table. Jill Canning rescued the only point for Pegasus F.
The top of Division Four couldn’t be much closer. Only nine points separate the top five teams in a division that looks likely to go down to the final few matches of the season to determine who gets promoted. Tollgate F look the most likely after beating 2nd-place Gilberd B 8-2. Youngster Callum Wilkinson achieved a maximum. Rowhedge K played out a 5-5 draw with Gt Horkesley E. Jarecki Sahaj won all of his games for Rowhedge. Pegasus G remain bottom of the table after losing 10-0 to Lawford E.
Rowhedge B extend their lead at the top of the Premier Division after beating Rowhedge C 9-1. Oli Reynolds was the only player for Rowhedge C able to pick up a point for them. Tollgate A are second, seven points behind Rowhedge B, beating Walton A 9-1. Pegasus A are bottom, even though they made a valiant effort against Gt Horkesley A. Steve Kerns of Pegasus was player of the match as he beat all who stood before him. However, Gt Horkesley proved why they are third in the table as they won every other game to win 7-3. Rowhedge A beat St James A 6-4. Gill Locke picked up a maximum for St James.
Rowhedge E move into 2nd place in Division One, thanks to a huge 9-1 victory over Tollesbury A. Paul Freeman picked up the only point for Tollesbury, however, the scorecard doesn’t quite match the scoreline. Five of the ten games went the full distance, so the final result could have been much different if Tollesbury finished off their chances. Rowhedge D are closely looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone after losing 7-3 to Tollgate C. Chris Brook managed to reduce the loss by winning all of his games for Rowhedge. Walton B move top after beating strugglers Rowhedge F 7-3. No Walton player was able to beat Chris Parr of Rowhedge.
