After a difficult first half to the season, Tollgate C seem to have found some form in Division One. They recorded a very impressive 7-3 victory over Rowhedge E, who had ever-improving youngster Gracie Edwards playing for them. However Gracie was only able to win one of her matches, beating Daryl Lott in 4 sets. Walton A won 8-2 for the second week running, thrashing St James B 8-2. St James C stay top after beating Walton B 6-4. Sam Hume compiled the only maximum of the evening.
In Division Two, Steve Holland had to surrender his amazing 100% record against Tollgate D. Surprisingly, Steve was only able to win one of his matches that evening, with both Michael Taylor and Karl Baldwin beating Steve in their respective games. His record still stands proud though, with 28 out of 30 games won. In the other game of the week, it was an all-Pegasus clash, with the ‘C’ team edging out the ‘B’ team 7-3. Gordon Fairchild, however, won all of Pegasus’ B points with a maximum.
The top three teams of Division Three packed themselves into Pegasus’ venue on the same night to see which team would have the most success. It was to be Tollesbury B’s night at the end after beating 3rd place Pegasus D 8-2. This moved Tollesbury up into second place and they have gained some ground on St James D as they could only muster up a 6-4 victory over Pegasus E. St James D play Pegasus D next week, which could prove to be a good encounter. Dedham C beat Gilberd B 6-4.
Rowhedge I move to the top of Division Four after a 6-4 victory over Tollgate E. However Rowhedge K, who are 1 point behind, have 2 games in hand. Lawford D had a big 9-1 win over Gt Horkesley G.
Gt Horkesley A of the Premier Division had a tough game against University of Essex A, only managing a 6-4 win. Tollgate A beat Rowhedge C by the same scoreline.
