The season is only five weeks in, but one team in Division Four look unstoppable at this moment in time; Dedham C. Their most recent victory came against CRGS A, who they brushed aside 10-0. This result leaves them 13 points ahead of Tollesbury C, which leaves the game between the two sides in a couple of weeks crucial. Lawford D drew 5-5 with Pegasus F. No player remained unbeaten at the end of the evening.
In the Premier Division, Tollgate A have built up a six-point lead at the top thanks to a 9-1 win against their sister side, Tollgate B. Both Greg Green and Trevor Lloyd were too strong for their opponents. Rowhedge A have kept the pressure on Tollgate A after beating Lawford A 8-2, with Rik James winning all his games. Pegasus A had a close 6-4 victory over St James A, with Ian Whiteside achieving a maximum for Pegasus. Walton A and Rowhedge B drew 5-5. Gary Young won all his games for Walton.
Tollgate D join Walton B at the top of the table after beating Tollgate C 8-2. Martyn Green and Martin Hogg won all their games for the ‘D’ team. Walton B beat St James C 7-3. Derek Willis won the man-of-the-match award by winning all his games for Walton. Tollesbury B recorded their second win of the season, beating two-man Lawford B 8-2. Gareth Davies and Tom Lewis walked out unbeaten.
In Division Two, Lawford C stretch their lead at the top slightly by beating St James D 8-2. James Tindle achieved a maximum, although Colin Beaumont pushed him all the way, losing the 5th set 13-15. Tollgate E beat Gt Horkesley B 7-3, with Richard Baxter winning all his games for Tollgate.
Current leaders of Division Three, Tollgate G, had a shock 8-2 loss against Tollgate F. After a strong start to the season, they could only manage two points against their sister team. Ethan Lloyd and Jason Lloyd won all their games for Tollgate F. This gave Gilberd A the chance to close the gap at the top, and they did so by beating Dedham B 8-2. Olly Fifield and Harry Lynch ended the night unbeaten.
