At the end of the second week to the new 2016/17 season, Tollgate D move to the top of Division One after drawing 5-5 with Rowhedge D. Rowhedge had Adam Cuthbert to thank for winning the majority of their points as he achieved a maximum, including helping Martin Edwards win the doubles alongside him. Walton B and Gt Horkesley A also drew 5-5, with Ken Lewis beating all of Walton’s players.
Dedham A climb to the top of Division Two after beating Pegasus B 7-3. George Berry made amends for a disappointing week last week by winning all of his games for Dedham. Rowhedge G and Rowhedge F shared the spoils with a 5-5 draw. Jared Chelski maintained his 100% record for the ‘G’ team by ending the night unbeaten.
In Division Three, Pegasus C have a slender lead at the top. They beat their sister team, Pegasus D, 7-3 albeit with the ‘D’ team turning up with two players. Tollgate G continue their strong start to the season after gaining promotion last season by beating Gt Horkesley C 7-3. Toby Deng won all of his games for Tollgate. Gilberd A beat Gt Horkesley D 7-3, with Olly Fifield achieving a maximum. Pegasus E beat Dedham B by the same scoreline.
Dedham C lead the way in Division Four after narrowly beating Gilberd B 6-4. Only two out of the ten games played were won in three sets. Denise Thompson won all her games for Dedham. Tollesbury C recorded a good 10-0 victory over Pegasus F to put them 2nd in the table. Lawford D and Pegasus G drew 5-5, with Charlie Morris-Denholm ending the night unbeaten.
Tollgate A remain top of the Premier Division thanks to a 7-3 victory over St James B. St James only turned up with two players so Tollgate were helped before the night even began. Colin Stallwood won all his games for Tollgate. Three teams sit behind Tollgate on 10 points. Rowhedge A make up for their disappointing night from last week by beating Rowhedge B 8-2. Richard Hutchinson and Paul Broxton won all their games for the ‘A’ team. Walton A beat Lawford A 7-3, with Gary Young achieving a maximum. St James A beat Tollgate B 7-3. Colin Webber won all his games for St James.
