Regional builder gives cash boost to Solihull-based group
A young people’s club in Solihull has been given a £1,000 cash boost thanks to a regional builder to help improve their facilities.
Colebridge Young People’s Club, based in Colebrook Road, Shirley, applied to Persimmon Homes Central to become one of its monthly Community
Kate Hughes, spokeswoman for the club said: “It means a lot to our club to have the support of a company such as Persimmon Homes. We are open to all and have 93 adults and 37 junior members. The club is run by a group of volunteers through a committee elected by its members and fulfils a real need in the local community. We cannot thank Persimmon enough for their support.
“As part of the club, we also run table tennis teams and we aim to improve the sport through the local community by working with junior and secondary schools and encouraging people to train with us.”
Sarah Read,
“If people were unsuccessful last month in their Community Champions application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next recipient.”
