DIS Coach and Education Evening

Dear All,

I am sending this email on behalf of DIS (Derbyshire Institute of Sport).

As many of you know there are currently 4 players identified to be on the DIS programme, to gain coaching/practice time, strength and conditioning and extra support such as psychology and physiotherapy to help them reach their and the DIS goals of becoming athletes who can represent England at an International level. Gareth Herbert is the performance coach in charge of this programme.

On Tuesday 13th August, Gareth and myself will be running an open session where we would like to invite all coaches within Derbyshire to come along and see what the programme is about, parents are also welcome to attend as they may also coach their children.

On top of this Gareth will be running a master class session on service, looking to pass on his own knowledge and advice, not only to the players but also the coaches as well. Gareth was regarded as one of the world’s leading servers a few years ago and regularly had top class coaches, including the Chinese national team looking to take advice from him.

The session will be from 18:30 – 20:30 and we will both be there from 18:00 if anyone would like to come before to discuss anything with us. There is no charge to come along to this session and we would really like to see as many of you there as possible. The session will take place at Colin Deaton TTA, Springwell Community School, Chesterfield.

If you are interested in attending then please can you let us know, so we can plan the session accordingly. Also if there are any coaches who you feel would like to come along who have not  been copied into this email then please can you make them aware of it.

Kind Regards
