Over 50 club form a Management Committee

At the end of August Mr Roy Bayliss retired from running the Over 50's Table Tennis Club after 20 years. Having started the Club and presiding over its growth and developement which saw it really blossom especially after our Club premises where updated in 2006. The Monday afternoon session averages 25+ and the Friday morning session averages 35+ Players attending. These figures are impressive and the income derived goes a long way to making our Club financially secure.

In the middle of November a meeting was held on the Friday morning session to elect a Management Committee. The Officers elected are:-

                    Chair Person             - Sue Gooch

                    Treasurer                  - Bill Mason

                    Rota Representative - Ernie Brown

Health & Safety         - Carolyn Tong

                    Events                        - Keith Wright

                    Communications       - Derek Hubbard

The above Committee is beginning to get the necessary organisation in place with considerable support and help from the membership. A rota as been organised of people willing to open up, collect playing fees and locking up the premises safely. The willingness of members to do this is an indication of how much they value what the club provides. As well as twice weekly chances to play they can take part in 2, in house, Tournaments plus 5 Inter Club matches.
