Aces v St Gabriels A. With the Aces team of Jon Mawson, Ian McAllister and Duncan Fraser against Tony Gelder, Tom Bainbridge and Norman Pescod, the game looked to be well away from the Aces with only Ian McAllister winning in the first six games, however with all three players then winning the next three games it was left to the last match between Ian McAllister and Tony Gelder to decide how many points the Aces would end up with. However Tony continued his unbeaten form leaving Aces only gaining one point with a score of 4-6.
Bombers v Durham CA postponed because of the Lumiere.
Comets v Cram Nights. The Comets are soaring away in their league with a comprehensive 10-0 win away at Cramlington Nights. The team with the return of Terry Charlton joining Nikki and Debbie Irwin were never really troubled by the Nights team of Richard and Peter Anderson and Elliott Dorrington with only 3 games going beyond 3 sets. They are still top of the league!
Desperadoes v Chargers. The in club derby produced a terrific display with lots of close games. The Chargers with Anna Kiwitt, Barry Dingwall and John Reid were up against debutant Sam Duffin his brother Max and Robert Atkinson. The match was close but the experience of Chargers was proving decisive and the last game was between the 2 unbeaten players of the night Anna Kiwitt and Sam Duffin. Although Sam took the game to 4 ends he just wasn’t quite good enough to finish so Anna Kiwitt ended up unbeaten and the Chargers won 7-3 taking 3 of the 4 points on offer.
