Comets v Cram Magpies. A routine game for the Comets as they continue their march towards promotion. Terry Charlton Nikki and Debbie Irwin were successful in all their singles games and with Debbie and Nikki taking the doubles the Magpies consisting of Graham and Jamie Hall and McKenzie Clark were overwhelmed and went down 10-0
Bombers v St Gabriels. This game was closer than the score-line suggests but the very talented St Gabriel’s team fielding the father and son team of Keith and Joshua Weatherby and Barry Cuthbertson were too strong for the Dan Hutchinson, Dan Nicholson and Ian McPherson. Dan Hutchinson won his opening game against Barry Cuthbertson over 3 ends however in the next game Ian McPherson struggled against Keith Weatherby and was beaten in 2 ends. Dan Nicholson against the young Josh Weatherby was an intriguing battle but Josh proved triumphant in two close ends. Ian McPherson fared better against Barry and beat him over 3 ends but that was the final success for the Sacriston team as St Gabriels took the next three games to end with an unassailable 5-2 advantage and took the match
Desperadoes v Durham B. A match played in a really good spirit with the youngsters from Sacriston, Max Duffin, Haydn Williamson and Robert Atkinson taking 2 of the first five games to make the 2nd Division team go all out and eventually run out 5-2 winners and move through to the next round.
Haydn Williamson v Howard Brown (Silksworth)
A game taken right to the wire with Haydn making the 2nd Division player work really hard right to the final end but eventually the experienced Howard overcame Haydn 3-2
