Comets v Matfen

Comets travelled to Matfen with regulars Coli Pritchard Debbie and Nikki Irwin against Brian Harrison Sam Beedle and Mark Perrin knowing they needed a good result to stand a chance of winning the title. St Johns A v Desperadoes

The last game of the season pitted the leagues unbeaten champions  St Johns A against the team at the bottom of the league.  St Johns had two of the best players in the league Craig Hilton and Craig Burton and Lynda Todd against the talented Erin Harrison, the attacking Oliver King and the steadily improving Sean Patterson. The game went according to league positions but the youngsters from the Desperadoes  played positive table tennis keeping the ball on the table and attacking at every opportunity. Erin beat Lynda Todd in three ends and took an end off Craig Hilton as did Erin and Oliver in the doubles against Craig Hilton and Lynda Todd. Oliver and Sean played some really attacking shots forcing the opposition  back, but couldn’t convert their positive shots into ends won. Result 9-1 to St John’s, with Erin voted player of the match .
