West B V Bombers

Sacriston Bombers continued their successful run, with a hard fought win at West B. The youngsters of Max Duffin and Dan Hutchinson again proved unbeatable and took all their singles games. Mario Hadjinicola Dave Thomson and Kishore Sridharan  played some good table tennis but struggled against the powerful attacking youngsters and only Dave and Mario had any successes with a singles win each and also took the doubles. Nigel Coe chipped in with a win for the Bombers to give them a 7-3 win, keeping them at the top of the league.

Eagles v East Boldon B

Eagles unfortunately only turned out two players against a very promising youthful East Boldon side. Haydn Williamson and Luke Dumighan were up against Jamie Collins, William Walton and David Byers. Some 5 enders were played but East Boldon dominated, and with only Haydn managing a win against David Eagles went down 9-1.

Redby A V Aces

A very competitive game between a Redby team struggling for results and the Aces who only travelled with two players, Duncan Fraser and Jon Mawson. Redby with their regulars of Ken Tweedy, Malcolm Deneven and Frank Booth put up stiff resistance taking 4 games to 5 ends and 1 to  4 but could only capitalise on the forfeits, eventually going down 7-3

Aces v Newton B

Unfortunately Newton only turned up with two players  in this 1st v 3rd in the league match, and Aces capitalised by taking another 3 games on top of the forfeits to end up with a 6-4 win stretching Aces lead away from Newton. Rob Lawson and Chas Robertson won the doubles for Newton adding to two wins for Rob, and 1 for Chas, but Ian McAllister took MVP winning all his games and was backed up by 2 from Jon Mawson and 1 from Duncan Fraser for Sacriston Aces.

Desperadoes v Redby B

Desperadoes were up against league toppers Redby who had their three players in the top 10 players of the league. Howard Foster and Firdaus Nazeri proved unbeatable on the night which matches their top 2 positions in stats. Both Kevin Richardson and Dennis Jennings managed a win each and Paul Salkeld took league topper Howard Foster all the way before being beaten, but Redby ended up with an 8-2 victory keeping them at the top of the league.

East Boldon C V Comets

Comets V East Boldon C

East Boldon have been struggling lately and were hoping to improve against promotion contenders Sacriston Comets and turned out Ryan Campbell, Bruce Davison and Adam Allsopp. Comets travelled with Colin Pritchard, Matt Greenwood and Nikki Irwin. However the game went to form with stand out performances from Nikki Irwin and Matt Greenwood winning all their singles, Colin fall foul of a stand out game by Bruce who beta him in three but he took the other two games and with Nikki won the doubles giving Comets a comprehensive 9-1 victory.
