Eagles v Lanchester

Eagles travelled to Lanchester with jack Pugh, Haydn Williamson and Ross Clennell against one of the new teams in the league. They may be a new team but they have some veteran performers playing and with Alan Kent, Frank Clarke and Jeff Singleton put up a strong display. The only positive results for Eagles were an excellent 3-2 win to Ross Clennell against Jeff and a solid doubles result for Jack and Haydn against two other players Nigel Cardale and George Taylor.

Comets v Redby B

The two promoted teams from the third division had the chance to test themselves early in the season and with both teams fielding a new player an interesting contest was promised. Dave Craddock for Redby won all his singles games to give him MVP but both Matt Greenwood and Colin Pritchard won two for Comets. Firdaus Nazeeri and Howard Forster both got one for Redby and with Colin and Kevin Richardson beating Firdaus and David in the doubles the game ended up in a 5-5 draw.

Aces v Unionist A

Aces had regulars Ian McAllister, Duncan Fraser and Jon Mawson for their first game in their new venue against the Unionist team who because of injury only turned up two players Dave Cutler and Dick Karczewski. Duncan took MVP winning all his games and with Ian took the doubles, Ian won two and Jon one giving Aces a comfortable 7-3 victory.
