Comets v Silksworth B

Comets have moved Haydn Williamson up from Eagles to join their squad and he got off to a cracking start taking a game against Silksworth B when he beat Chris Wold 3- 0. Both Colin Pritchard and Kevin Richardson took two games each and with Colin and Haydn combining to win the doubles, Comets came away with a well-deserved 6-4 win, the first of the season. However MVP was taken by a solid display by Nigel Tree winning all three singles for Silksworth, who was backed up by a battling performance from John Foster who took a game as well.

Aces v St Gabriel’s B

The first game in this match was a cracking game between two really consistent players Ian McAllister for Aces and Jake Helm for St Gabriel’s where both players take the first opportunity to attack. Jake took the first end but Ian hit straight back to level the match. The next two ends both went to deuce before Ian came through in each of them to take it 3-1. Joe Muldowney pulled the match level with a win over Jon Mawson but then Duncan Fraser beat Graham Murden before Jake won the next game to leave it 2-2 before the doubles. Aces won this and the next two before St Gabriel’s took 2 to leave it 5-4 to Aces with one to play. Again Ian lost the first end, this time to Joe before coming back strongly to win the next three giving Aces a 6-4 wi.
