Bombers v St Johns

Bombers have two games left and although they have secured promotion to the first division need 15 points from 2 games to take the title. They were up against 3rd in the league St Johns and turned out Dan Hutchinson Max Duffin and Ian McPherson. St Johns turned out a weakened team, only travelling with Gary Anderson and Tony Watson. The experience of Gary and Tony wasn’t enough to overcome the youngsters power and although they worked Ian hard couldnt manage a victory against him. The tightest match was the doubles where Ian and Dan after being 2-0 up and 10-8 in the third lost the end and then the next to lead to a nail biting final end which went to 11-8 before the Comets came through giving them a 10- 0 victory and Dan Hutchinson MVP. With one game left next Wednesday at Fyndoune Bombers need 5 points to win the title outright  or with 4 points will leave the league with an interesting problem.

Comets v Backspin B

Comets have already secured a promotion spot but would like to go up as champions and with only one game left needed as many points as possible form the very talented and improving Backspin B. Backspin only travelled with John Cook and Adam Butler but they are the top two players for the team. Comets had Nikki Irwin and Matt Greenwood along with Captain Colin Pritchard.

Adam proved the start of the night taking MVP with his victory in all his singles but he did struggle in his match against Nikki and only came through in the final end after being 2-1 down. However all the Comets won 2 games each and Matt and Nikki took the doubles to give Comets a 7-3 victory putting them 15 points ahead of Redby who have 2 games left.

Sorry about the delay but holidays intervene

It is building up to an exciting end to the season for a number of the Sacriston teams.

First of all Comets have played all their games and are currently top of Division 3 by 7 points. Redby in second must beat Backspin B by 7 points to beat them to the league title. We await that result with interest(game to be played at Backspin).

Bombers have one final game to be played on Wednesday March 30th at our training session at Fyndoune and need 4 points against Silksworth B.

Aces are currently leading Div 2 of the Northumbria league by 13 points and also have 2 games in hand but this league lasts until the end of April and Aces still have 4 games left.

The other teams are all established in  mid table security, Desperadoes and Eagles 7th and 9th respectively in league 3

Aces in the first division are well established in a safe mid table position with 2 games left
