Comets v East Boldon Amigos

Comets are struggling with some games this year and this was another game where they couldn’t match the firepower of their opponents, East Boldon who turned up with the reliable Neil Wilkinson, solid player Jeff Hope, and the up and coming youngster Jamie Collins. The only resistance  for Comets came from Kevin Richardson who is improving with every game and won one game convincingly and took Jamie to 5 ends before succumbing after getting to deuce but with Neil Wilkinson taking MVP and Peter Whitfield and Matt Greenwood only registering a couple of ends between them East Boldon came out victors 9-1.

Energy v Eagles

This was a tussle between two clubs who are determined to produce more youngsters playing and with five players on the court 16 or under it was a tremendous game played in an excellent spirit.

The brothers Patryk and Edward Nicholson for Energy proved the stars of the night with Patryk taking 3, Edward 2 and the pair taking the doubles.

All of the Eagles team of Luke Dumighan, Harry Veitch and Becca Harrison took at least one game and Becca also took a notable scalp in beating Edward in a close run game. Paul Dunn for Energy put in some excellent displays of attacking play but was unfortunate to come away pointless, Energy victors 6-4
