Team Handicap Cup Final Scorpions v Lanchester

After a long wait the final was played at the Beacon Of Light on a Friday night.

Lanchester A were fielding Reuben Emery, Alan Kent and John Rayner, while Scorpions had Harry Veitch, Oliver Wilkinson and Jeff McKenna.

It was a rip-roaring end to end match that proved the reliability of the handicaps going right to the final game.

The handicaps proved too much to overcome for Jeff McKenna who didn’t manage to win any but after Harry had taken all three of his games and Oliver had taken 1 it was down to the final game between Oliver and Reuben. Olly with his fast paced attacking game, struggled at first, but after getting to grips with Reubens serves he ran out 2-0 ahead so the match was won 5-4 by Scorpions. The trophy was presented by the league President Ken Taylor and in attendance was Scorpions first reserve Steve Verde.
