Andrew Miller visits club to see how Sport England money has been used

Andrew Miller MP visited Ellesmere Port and Chester Table Tennis Centre, based at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre, on Thursday 19 February. He was helping the club to celebrate their £8000 Lottery Grant, awarded by Sport England, which has provided top class equipment for the club and training for club coaches.

Andrew first had a session with the club's robot, to improve his table tennis shots.  He then had a practice hit with Logan Lee, who attends Wolverham Primary School, the youngest member of the club's undefeated cadet team; before receiving an extended coaching session with Paul Hurst, one of the coaches whose training was funded by the grant.

Mr Miller said he was delighted to see that the Sport England grant has provided such excellent table tennis equipment for the club which welcomes people of all ages in Ellesmere Port and surrounding area, whether they are expert players or absolute beginners.  He said "I thoroughly enjoyed this evening, despite not having played for eight years, and hope to visit again after the May election".
