Handicap Cup Rules

Handicap Doubles. Add BOTH players adjusted score together and divide by two to find the final adjusted score. If Rated D and G and win 21-18, against Rated E and J, adjusted scores are, (Rated D = 12, Rated G=15) added = 27, divided by 2 = 13.5, rounded up to an adjusted score of 14. (Rated E=11, Rated J=16) added = 27, divided by 2 = 13.5, rounded up to an adjusted score of 14. So this doubles match finishes in a 14-14 draw.

The Jim West Handicap Cup

There are 21 games in a match. 18 singles + 3 doubles. Start of each game, toss for serve, all games start at 0-0, 2 serves each to first to 21 or if 20-20, one more point to be played.

It MAY just be possible to WIN all 21 games but still LOSE the match after the adjusted scores are done. So every single point will count, do not give up on a game. Have fun.

The Jim West Handicap Cup. WEEK COMM 27/11/2017.

You will find that after 18 singles and 3 doubles matches, the adjusted score for the match will usually be in the 300's. Do make sure you fill the ACTUAL score for every match accurately, EVERY point will count. As a last resort, if you struggle, which some of you may do, get the result back to Scott Bills, and he can do the adjustments and let you know who has won the match. Remember, if a game gets to 20-20, ONE point is played, but TWO points will be awarded for it, so 22-20.

Match Comments

A couple of interesting moments were passed on to HQ this week.Polegate B v Laughton, in the 4th set of the match between Dan Starnes and Malcolm Barber the score reached 27-25 in Dans favour !And in the Willingdon Stoolball match v Ministries A, the match started at 7.30 and went on, and on, and on, and on until finally the doubles were completed at 11.40pm. Obviously some very conscientious defending going on I reckon !!
