The Eastern Valley Table Tennis League Closed Tournament started this week with the Division One Singles. There were 16 entries played in groups of 4 to qualify for the knockout stages. In the group stage the 4 seeds progressed to the quarter-final, but, there were surprise defeats for David Lloyd by Jonathan Allen, Mark Farrow by Mark Edmunds and Chris Price by Paul Booth. The only seed to come through without any problems was Tony Collins. In the quarter-finals there no such problems for the seeds as they comfortably progressed to the semi-finals.

The semi-final line up saw last years 2 finalists Tony Collins and Mark Farrow contest a well fought match with Collins once again coming out on top 3 - 0. The other semi-final saw Chris Price come back from losing the first set to beat David Lloyd 3 - 1.

Therefore, the final will be between Tony Collins and Chris Price to be played on Final Night on 19th May 2015.
