The final of the 2017-18 Team Handicap (Pat Archdale Cup) was held this week between Cwmbran Colts from Div. 1 and Cwmbran Fellows from Div. 2. The Colts team were John Spencer plus Peter Gordon and Geoff Strangeway who were replacing the unavailable Pearce twins Mathew and Ben. The Fellows team were Haydn Skinner, Mick Mellor and Peter Teichner. As usual the team handicap was not revealed until the final match had been played. As would be expected of a contest between teams from different divisions the outcome of each game generally went the way of the Colts team. However there were a couple of surprises when Teichner took a game off Strangeway and Skinner took a game off Gordon. Despite these setbacks it was the Colts who triumphed in the end with a score of 296 against a Fellows score of 286(including a handicap of +150).
