 New leaders of Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League after this weeks matches are Cwmbran Aztecs. In their latest match they overcame Cwmbran Tigers 24-13. Player of the match was the Aztecs' Tony Collins with three wins and was very well supported by Andrew Ryder whose three wins were all against players higher placed in the rankings before this match. Despite the margin of defeat the Tigers proved competitive throughout the match with Roshan Rai and Jeraze Dhanbhoora picking up good wins against the higher ranked Mark Edmunds.

Previous leader of Division One, Cwmbran Blues suffered an unexpected defeat to Blaenavon Aces 12-20. The return of Jon Allen has certainly boosted the Aces results, but it was son Ben who stole the limelight with a player of the match performance of three wins without dropping a set. His victories included a good win over the highly ranked David D Lloyd. For the Blues, who were missing Mark Farrow for this match, Lloyd won two matches and Josef Sujanec picked up a single win.

In Division Two, the leaders Cwmbran Eccentrics took advantage of their nearest rivals, North Gwent Cougars having a bye week, with a 26-8 win over Cwmbran Lions. The Eccentrics had the player of the match in Ian Shipley with his three wins and was well supported by John Thomas and Lincoln Alford with their two wins. However, despite their defeat the Lions' John Williams pulled off the result of the night with his win over the highly ranked Thomas.

Third placed Cwmbran Dynamos continue to prove that they are not yet out of the title race with a 24-9 win over Cwmbran Fellows 24-9. The highlight of this match was the win by the Aztecs' player of the match Richard Lownsbrough over Wayne Ford, who suffered only his second defeat of the season. Lownsbrough won all his matches and he was well supported by Alex Jones and Will Smith-Haddon with two wins each. For the Fellows, Ford picked up two wins.

The final match in Division Two saw Cwmbran Panthers secure a 24-5 win over Cwmbran Devils. Player of the match was the Panthers' Howard Gaut with three wins and he was well supported by Sunam Rai, also with three wins and Yuri Cherkasenko with two wins. For the Devils, who were without their two leading players, Stan Williams and Colin Scott, there was a good win for Glenda Prytherch over Cherkansenko.
