Littleton Aces made a solid start to their Specsavers Division 1 campaign with a 9-1 result against Bengeworth Purple.
Kington Bulldogs battled to a draw against Littleton Positives. Nick Mytton was player of the match for Positives with 3 wins. Bulldogs’ Andrew and Ernie Smith fought back in an exciting doubles clash to secure 3 points, defeating Mytton and Robert Sinderberry in 5 sets.
Littleton Clubs beat Bengeworth Red 6-4, with Clubs’ Dave Harvey proving the difference between the two sides.
Kington Blades were too good for Littleton Cobras, winning 9-1. Blades’ Alan Cotton and John Price did not drop a set throughout.
Wyre Livewyres and Wallace House Hussars produced the second draw of the week, in a thrilling match full of close contests. Hussars’ Lynda Reid came out on top in two 5 set battles, first against Darrell Wiltshire and then Geoff Woodward. Hussars’ Luke Moffat was undefeated in the singles matches, and awarded player of the match for the second week running. However, Moffat and Stef Mytton could not finish the job in the doubles and Livewyres’ Woodward and Matt Hartwell levelled the scores.
