EDTTA Division 1 Report 23rd November

Kington Blades strengthened their position at the top of Specsavers Division 1 with a 7-3 win over rivals Littleton Aces. Blades’ Alan Cotton and Craig Norledge each won 3 singles matches as Aces suffered their first defeat of the season.

Littleton Clubs moved up to 2nd place with a strong 7-3 result against Kington Bulldogs, inspired by a John Taylor triple, and followed up with a 9-1 victory against Bengeworth Purple.

Littleton Positives and Littleton Aces lost ground on the leaders as they battled out a 5-5 draw. Aces’ Mark Bilsborrow was Player of the Match and finished undefeated, but Positives’ Nick Mytton and Doug Payne each won 2 and then salvaged the draw via a tense 5 set doubles victory.

Wyre Livewyres celebrated their first win of the season against Littleton Cobras, although the 6-4 result also gave 2 points to Cobras, which was enough to lift them off the bottom. Craig Witheford was Cobras’ best player, undefeated in the singles and assisting in a vital doubles win.
