Division 2 Report 11th January 2015

Wyre Barbedwyre have a narrow lead at the top of Specsavers Division 2 this week, despite a 6-4 defeat against Wallace House Troopers. Troopers’ Mandy Sylvester proved the difference between the two sides dropping only 1 set all evening.

Littleton Panthers are in second place following a win over Littleton Bears and a draw with Wyre Warriors. Bears’ Paul Bruner made it a tough fight for Panthers, winning all 3 singles matches. Bruner is an expert at reading his opponent’s game and working out a way to win. He managed to come back from 2-0 down against both Rosie Phillpot and Sandra Jackson. However, Panthers’ strength in depth and the doubles partnership of Leanne Sully and Sandra Jackson proved just enough to win the contest.

Warriors’ Michael Jones was player of the match against Panthers with 3 wins, but again Sully and Jackson battled to a doubles victory and secured the draw.
