Division 2 Report Feb

Bengeworth Sharks are the new leaders in Evesham & District Specsavers Division 2 after a 9-1 win over Bengeworth Wolves. Geoff Collings continued his winning run with another 3 victories for Sharks. Howard Bentham was also unbeaten on the night. Ian Facer got the consolation win for Wolves in a fiveset battle against Simon Bennett.

The match between Wyre Warriors and Littleton Bears finished 5-5 and included a clash between Paul Bruner and Michael Jones, the division’s top two players. Bears’ Bruner defeated Jones 3-1 and maintained his 100% record. Jones won 2 for Warriors, as did Malcolm Dewsbury for Bears. Jones and Ray Griffiths fought back from 2 sets down to win the doubles against Bruner and Dewsbury in 5 sets and snatch the draw.

All women team Littleton Jackson Five had a narrow 6-4 victory over Littleton Giants. Junior player Holly Bilsborrow was the night’s top performer with 3 wins plus a doubles victory with partner Leanne Knight.
