The last few outstanding matches were played this week in the Evesham & District Specsavers League. The new League Champions are JLM Hawks, based at Wallace House in Evesham. Hawks were undefeated all season with 16 wins and 2 draws. Key players for Hawks were Dave Harvey, Luke Moffat and Craig Norledge. Jack Davis and Luke Gresty also assisted, making 4 appearances each. Kington Blades were runners up. Littleton Positives finished in 3rd place. Dave Harvey of JLM Hawks topped the league’s individual averages table with 38 wins from 41 played. In second place was Luke Moffat of Hawks. Matt Hartwell of Wyre Elite was third.

JLM Sunrisers were Specsavers Division 2 winners, making it a league double for JLM. The Sunrisers squad was Jonathan Lyons, Stef Mytton, Mandy Sylvester and Kevin Taylor. Sunrisers had 15 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. Littleton Dolphins were runners up. Littleton Bears finished in 3rd place. Stephen Glazzard of Wyre Warriors had the best individual figures in Division 2 with 38 played and just one defeat. In second place was Simon Robinson of Littleton Dolphins. Kevin Taylor of JLM Sunrisers placed third.

It has been an exciting season for Evesham & District with several talented younger players coming through into the top division and beginning to challenge the established names. It is time for the Evesham & District table tennis community to take break for a few months until it all starts again in September.
