The Annual General Meeting of the Worcestershire County Table Tennis Association will be held on Monday 8th July 2014 at 7.30pm at Kidderminster Harriers in the Ron Thomas room.

Bristol Table Tennis Academy Club will be running another Training Camp in April 2014. The camp is open to players of all ages and abilities who want to improve upon technique and match play. Bengeworth Lions were crowned Evesham & District Table Tennis Association champions this week. They needed a draw or better against 2nd place Kington Blades to take the title, but made sure with a comfortable 10-0 victory.

Evesham started the fourth and final day of the West Midlands League competition in 3rd place in Division One, 4 points behind leaders Colebridge and 2 points behind Wood Green. Having missed out on the title by a single point last year, there may have been fears it would elude them again.

The Evesham & District Table Tennis Association Specsavers Division 2 season is almost complete. There are just 3 fixtures yet to play. Littleton Cobras are already champions but can still have a say on the runners up.

This week’s Specsavers Division 1 fixtures lined up a much-anticipated clash between the only two undefeated players in the Evesham & District League. On this occasion, youth triumphed over experience as Bengeworth Lions’ Jaspreet Singh defeated Littleton Clubs’ Dave Harvey and maintained his 100% record.

Littleton Cobras are champions of Specsavers Division 2 with one match left to play. Cobras took the title by beating Bengeworth Sharks and Littleton Giants, whilst rivals Bengeworth Wolves were held to a draw by Littleton Bears.

Littleton Aces’ challenge for the Specsavers Division 1 title appears to be slipping away after defeats against Kington Blades and Wyre Elite. Blades’ Alan Cotton and John Price both scored 3 out of 3 wins. Elite’s Matt Hartwell was also on impressive form, winning all his matches in straight sets.

Littleton Cobras moved to the top of Specsavers Division 2 with wins over Bengeworth Green, Wyre Barbedwyre and Wyre Warriors. Graham Briscombe has been on top form for Cobras, winning all but one of his matches across the three fixtures. His only defeat came in a fiveset match with Barbedwyre’s John Buxton.

Specsavers Division 1 leaders Bengeworth Lions suffered their first defeat of the season against title rivals Littleton Positives. Lions’ Jaspreet Singh maintained his season unbeaten record in the singles, but Positives’ Doug Payne and Yann Berthelemy each won 2 out of 3.

Bengeworth Wolves moved to the top of Specsavers Division 2 following a win over Wyre Barbedwyre and a draw with title rivals Littleton Panthers. The Panthers v Wolves match saw a clash between the leading two players in the division so far. Panthers’ Craig Witheford defeated Wolves’ Chris Message in straight sets and is now just one win behind Message at the top of the individual averages table.

Bengeworth Lions tightened their grip on the Specsavers Division 1 title with a 6-4 win against 2nd placed Littleton Aces. Lions’ Jack Davis and Jaspreet Singh won all their singles matches, and Singh remains the top player in the league.

It is extremely tight at the top in Specsavers Division 2 this season. Littleton Panthers inflicted a first defeat on current leaders Littleton Cobras and drew level on points. Bengeworth Green and Bengeworth Wolves are also in touch with the leaders and at this stage it looks like any of the four could take the title and win promotion

Kington Blades have moved up to 3rd place in Specsavers Division 1 and are emerging as the strongest challengers to Bengeworth Lions for the championship. Blades defeated Littleton Clubs 7-3, in a match that saw an exciting clash between two of the top players in the league.

Evesham under 15s maintained their strong position in the West Midlands regional table tennis league. At the halfway point, the team consisting of Alex Tomlinson, Craig Witheford and James Morrow are 2 points clear at the top after another series of wins.

The latest round of competition in Evesham & District Table Tennis Specsavers Division 2 produced some very close and exciting contests. Littleton Cobras maintained their lead at the top with a 6-4 win over Bengeworth Wolves.

Littleton Positives made strong progress in Specsavers Division 1 with wins over Bengeworth Purple and Wyre Livewyres. Purple put up strong resistance with Margaret Dignum winning all her singles matches, and came close to snatching victory from Positives.
