The Gloucester sessions run at the Robin Greaves Sports Hall on the Waterwells estate, on Friday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm with refreshments provided. Newly extended hours mean you can turn up at any time, play, drink and go at your convenience.
Coach Nick Davidson from Cheltenham, explained: “The idea behind the sessions is to encourage anyone aged 50 or over to get a bit more active, while trying a game they might enjoy. The beauty of table tennis is that people can play at any level, so the players range from complete beginners to people who played years ago and want to get back into the sport.”
Nick adds: “I run the sessions and, as a qualified coach, I’m there to help people develop their play if that’s what they want to do. It’s a social event and players are encouraged to move around the tables, playing everyone else, but there is also the opportunity for coaching if anyone wants that.”
New players are always welcome: ring Nick on 07798 558545 for more details.
