31st MARCH 2015 MATCH REPORT

Only 2 matches played in Eastern Valley Table Tennis League this week, both in Division Two. Going into this weeks matches Cwmbran Dynamos were 23 points behind the leaders Cwmbran Panthers with 2 matches to played whereas the Panthers were playing their final match. However, any chance that the Dynamos had of overtaking the deficit was lost when their number one Alex Jones had to pull out of the match against Blaenavon Aces and they lost 10 - 24. For the Aces both the Pearce brothers Matthew and Ben won all their matches.

As a result of the Dynamos match, the Panthers only needed to score 15 points to secure the Division Two title, which they did with a 19 - 12 defeat of Cwmbran Fellows. For the Panthers Mike Blatchford secured 3 straight set wins and was well supported by Howard Gaut with two wins. The other member of the successful Panthers team is Yuri Cherkasenko who was unavailable for this match. Congratulations to Cwmbran Panthers.

The race for the runner-up position will go down to the final match next week with the Dynamos needing to overcome a 18 points deficit to overtake Blaenavon Aces. The Dynamos final match is against Cwmbran Eccentrics whereas the Aces have completed their matches.
