Cwmbran Blues are in first place despite losing their latest match against second placed Blaenavon Aces 13-19. Player of the match was the Aces, Ben Allen with 3 wins and he was well supported by Jon Allen with 2 wins and Iestyn Howells with 1 win. For the Blues, Josef Sujanec secured 2 wins and David Lloyd 1 win.
Cwmbran Preachers remain in third place following their 25-6 win over Cwmbran Tigers with player of the match Ray Goulding picking up maximum wins. Goulding was well supported by Dave Lloyd, also with 3 wins and Claire Flannagan with 2 wins.
The team that will provide the main danger to the top three sides are last years champions Cwmbran Aztecs who have a game in hand. In their latest match the Aztecs secured an emphatic 27-7 win against Cardiff Nomads. Once again the player of the match was the Aztecs' Tony Collins with 3 wins, just ahead of Mark Edmunds and Andrew Ryder who also had maximum wins. For the Nomads Dave Grounsell fought gamely for his 3 team points.
In Division Two there are new leaders in Cwmbran Lions who in their latest match defeated Cwmbran Panthers 23-8. Player of the match was the Lions' John Williams with maximum wins and he was well supported by Haydn Skinner and Dan Tagean, both with 2 wins each. For the Panthers, Howard Gaut fought well for his 2 wins.
Dropping down to second place are Cwmbran Dynamos, despite beating Cwmbran Fellows 18-15 in their latest match. The Dynamos were missing their number one player Will Smith-Haddon but Alex Jones picked up the player of the match award with his 3 wins, just ahead of Richard Lownsbrough also with 3 wins. For the Fellows Wayne Ford, picked up 1 win and 7 team points. Father and son combination Jason and Jacob Wicks both collected a win each on their league debuts.
Moving into third place in Division Two and with a game in hand over the teams above them are Cwmbran Eccentrics. In their latest match the Eccentrics defeated Cwmbran Devils 22-12 and provided the player of the match in John Thomas with maximum wins. Thomas was well supported by Lincoln Alford, also with 3 wins. For the Devils, Stan Williams, Glenda Prytherch and guest player, Michal Policht all registered 1 win each.
