Greetland kept their unbeaten run intact by the skin of their teeth with a 5-4 victory over Panthers.

Martin Bowers' victory in the eighth set over Alex Shaw locked the game at four apiece, with Matthew Shaw and Ben Fillingham left to play. And when Fillingham took the first end, Greetland's streak looked in danger. However Shaw recovered to take the next three ends, coming from 10-7 behind twice to clinch victory.

Sam Clayton proved to be the difference between the sides as he secured three wins, including an impressive 3-0 win over Bowers, who had previously beat Shaw, whilst Alan Veal overcame Alex Shaw in five.

Meanwhile, Greetland's 'B' team came close to a huge shock before narrowly going down 5-4 to Warriors. Two wins apiece for Garry Jowett and Gilly Broadbent, including superb victories for both over Ian Tweedale and Dave Wood respectively, had given Greetland a 4-1 lead. However Warriors held their nerve and won the next four sets, Sanderson crucially defeating Lowson deuce in the fifth in the final set to secure a sensational comeback.

Hermits started the year strongly with a 6-3 win over in-form Tradesmen. Impressive wins for Geoff Barnes and Mick Kosmowsky over Stuart Sykes proved to be key, with Gary Foster also chipping in with two victories.

Meanwhile, Grasshoppers picked up their third win of the season with a 6-3 win over BT. Two wins apiece for Ken Mirfireld, Jake Clarke and Adrian Walker were enough to claim victory, whilst Mick Reddy claimed an impressive double for B.

Division 2

League leaders Hotshots showed no signs of Christmas rustiness as they cruised past Oakland Raiders 8-1. Hotshots cruised to an 8-1 lead, with Steve Marshall and Jonny Heslop winning all three, before Tony Hemmingway earned Oakland a consolation with a thrilling five set victory over Ollie Hill.

Central's valiant pursuit of Hotshots continues as they defeated Evergreens 8-1. Steve Thomas and Paul Dean impressively won three each whilst Shaun Forbes won two, going down to Dave Lewis.

Dolphins' rejuvenation continued as they picked up a 5-4 win over Team G. After picking up their first win of the season in the previous round of fixtures, they made it back to back wins, with Dave Blackburn the star once again with three victories, helping his side secure victory as they won four consecutive sets to turn around a 3-1 deficit.

Rams recovered from two consecutive defeats by beating Tribal 1 7-2. Dave Stertton's return to the fold reaped its rewards as he won all three matches, coming through a tight encounter with Josh Hill, whilst Dave Melborune and Darrell Mann won two apiece.

Ovenden Sports ended a torrid run of five consecutive defeats with a much needed 7-2 victory over Central 3. A blistering start saw them take a 3-0 lead. Crucially, they went on to win two five setters, with Peter McMullen and Terry Allington beating Brian Chapman and Steve Caufield respectively, to put the game to bed. Saj Mohammed's three wins added gloss to the result.

Division 3

Ramsbridge moved back to the top of Division 3 with a 9-0 victory over Rainbow 2. With previous table toppers Leopards not in action, Ramsbridge capitalised in their demolition display. Rainbow put a brave effort in, most notably Glyn Kershaw, who took an end of Joe Broadbent, Allen Cowburn and John Schofield, however he couldn't stop the trio recording three wins each.

Old Town Hounds made it back to back wins as they impressively defeated Jokers 5-4. Neil Coneron supplied the goods for Hounds with three victories, defeating Graham McWhirter in the 9th set to secure victory for his side.

Netamatix recorded their fourth consecutive win as they defeated Rainbow 1 6-3. A brave effort from Rainbow 1, who only fielded two players, saw them eventually go down to Netamatix despite Sha Khaghei's two victories and one for Alireza Khalili.

Ladies

Ellen Adams superbly ended Sophie Yung's unbeaten season as she starred in Ruby's 5-4 victory over Emerald. Adams recorded three wins for her side, including a 3-1 win over Yung, to help her side to yet another win, with Alex Borberly and Jo Sweeney winning one each,

It was a week for giant slayings in the division as Joyce Walker defeated Halifax Champion Chrissy Sykes to clinch her side a 5-4 win over Amethyst. Her three wins for Diamond, alongside two from Faye Curran secured victory, with Sykes recovering to record two victories for Amethyst.
