Greetland Social 'A' warmed up for their title defining match with Red Press with a 6-3 win over Hermits. In what was a hard fought contest that did little for any of the six players' average, it was Greetland who prevailed with the trio of Jack Dabrowski, Matthew Shaw and James Foster all winning two apiece.
Despite, Dabrowski and Shaw both being defeated by Gary Foster, Foster's son, James, maintained his unbeaten start to the season with a thrilling five end win over his dad. His impeccable record didn't last long however, as he eventually went down to Mick Kosmowsky. It could have been a very different scoreline if Shaw hadn't scraped through both Paul McKrieth and Kosmowsky in five.
YMEN's superb run of form continued as they defeated high flying Warriors 5-4. Keith Skarz and Ian Tweedale had given Warriors the lead with victories over Shamir Bose and Fraser Krischke respectively. However, four unanswered sets, including two from Steve Thomas, gave YMEN the initiative. Tweedale pulled one back with victory over Thomas before Bose sealed the win with victory over Bob Sanderson.
Meanwhile, Panthers recorded a 9-0 victory over BT. The trio of Ben Fillingham, Dave Bowers and Alan Veal recorded trebles to move Panthers up to fifth.
Division 2
Central 2 cranked up the pressure on leaders Hotshots with a 9-0 victory over Team G. Shaun Forbes, Eric Greenwood and Steve Thomas raced to victory, albeit they were made to work, with only three matches ending 3-0. Central are now just nine points behind Hotshots, although they do have a game in hand.
Michael Bush's three victories were not enough for Tribal as Central 3 returned to winning ways with a 6-3 victory. Central's trio of Brian Chapman, Steve Caufield and Matt Pinnell all won two matches to solidify their place in mid-table.
Oakland Raiders moved up to third with a 6-3 win over Dolphins. David Whiteley's impressive season continued with three victories, whilst Matthew and Stephen Horrocks chipped in with two and on respectively.
Division 3
Leopards capitalised on a rare Ramsbridge defeat to move 11 points clear at the top of Division 3. Leopards defeated Rainbow 2 8-1, with Richard Musgrove and Jake Challenger winning twice, whilst Ramsbridge fell victim to Rainbow's first team, with Derek Greenwood and Yasser Arfat scheming their way to two victories each for Rainbow.
Tribal 2 secured their third win in four with a 7-2 win over Old Town Robins. Glyn Kershaw and Peter Davis starred with three wins each, with Matthew Leedham adding one.
Meanwhile, Sowerby 2 registered their fifth win from six with a 9-0 drubbing of Old Town Hounds. Andrew Whiteley, Phillip Parry and John Korner dropped just four ends between them in a dominant display.
