Div 1 round-up - Unbeaten records tumble in week 3

100% records fell by the wayside both collectively and individually in the latest round of action.

Three weeks into the season and none of the nine sides have won all of their matches.

The previously unbeaten Sharpshooters were overturned by Dicko's Disciples, who are top of the league after a 6-3 win.

Sam Clayton was the star as he picked up three wins, with Jake Clarke bagging a double and Alex Shaw chipping in with one.

Nicholas Miller was one of four players to see his 100% start ended though he picked up eye-catching wins over Shaw and Clarke, while 10-year-old Abraham Sellado's stock is on the rise again after a five-end win over Shaw, who picked up his win over Steve Brailsford.

Lancs Raiders were the other unbeaten side but they went down 7-2 to Woodfield Park.

Shaun Ellis maintained his unbeaten start with three wins and was ably supported by Keith Skarz and Russell Senior, who won two.

Chris Whitehead showed resistance for the Raiders with two wins and took an end off Ellis.

Hermits registered back-to-back wins as they defeated Acapulco 5-4.

Matthew Shaw's impressive start to the year hit new heights as he picked up a superb treble, defeating the previously unbeaten Richard Aitken and James Foster in straight ends before dispatching of two-time Halifax champion Ben Fillingham 3-1.

But Foster and Aitken won two apiece, both defeating Palmer in five, who backed up a victory over Ian Marshall a fortnight ago with another impressive win over Fillingham.

Ben Speak, playing in the league for the first time in almost ten years, wasn't disgraced against top-end opposition.

Barbarians climbed to fifth in the table with a 6-3 win over Off Centre.

Ian Marshall and Fred Yeung both won all three but Off Centre responded as Bob Underwood, Peter Holbrook and Tony Lascelles all picked up good results over Steve Hanson.
