Division One of the Hastings & District Table Tennis League is being tightly contested with 6 points covering the top half dozen teams. Champions Bexhill A were once again at the centre of the action as they drew level with early leaders Tackleway A after halting their run with a 6-4 win. For Bexhill, Rob Warner’s maximum was key, with Martin Kellaway winning 2 and these two clinching victory with a 5-set doubles win.  John Wilson picked up 2 wins for Tackleway.

Bexhill B’s stuttering start to the season continues after they were held 5-5 at home to Saints C, who were missing Ron Davenport. Bexhill were indebted to Andy Summers’ maximum, while Andre Keen and Mick Hart won 2 each for Saints.

Division 2 leaders Tackleway C beat Hollington E 8-2 in a match which was closer than the score suggests.  James Gorridge and Andy Brown were unbeaten while Kevin Rowe won 2 for Tackleway.

Saints D maintained their recent form with a 10-0 win over Monarchs.  Barrie Fletcher, Paulette Clarke and Alan Blackman were unbeaten but Monarchs’ Andrew Edwards may consider himself unlucky to come away with nothing for his efforts.

Tigers B managed a 5-5 draw with old rivals Bexhill E, thanks mainly to a maximum from Chris Woods.

In Division 3, Hollington H had their best result to date with a 5-5 draw with NALGO B.  Hollington’s Kieran Gibbs and Ryan Demeza and NALGO’s Ron Spencer all won 2 games.
