After the latest round of matches in Division Two of the Hastings & District Table Tennis League, four teams are locked in an epic promotion battle. Bexhill E have taken the lead from Tackleway C after winning their encounter 6-4. A maximum from Brian Beaney and 2 wins from John Bradbury, plus a doubles win from these two, ended Tackleway’s resistance, despite 2 wins from James Gorridge for the losers.

Bexhill lead by 2 points from Tackleway who have a game in hand.

Bexhill D are level with Tackleway C after their 7-3 defeat of Hollington D, in which Ryan Warner was unbeaten and Paul Welford won 2. Shaun Godfrey won 2 for Hollington, whose Sue Adamson could have swung the game as all her games were decided at deuce in the 5th set, but she could only clinch one.

Saints D stay in contention with an 8-2 win over NALGO A in which Alan Blackman won 3 games and Barrie Fletcher and Paulette Clarke won 2.

A Kevin McEwan maximum and 2 wins from Keith Lindsay edged Tackleway F home 6-4 against Monarchs.

In Division 3, Amelia Long’s maximum could not save Hollington F from a 6-4 defeat to Hollington H, for whom Ryan Demeza and Kieran Gibbs won 2 each.

Bexhill F were surprisingly pushed all the way by Tigers D, winning 6-4 with Barry Goodson unbeaten.

Tigers E enjoyed their first 4-point win, beating Hollington G 8-2 with Joshua Bennett and Adam Mabb unbeaten.
