In Division 1 of the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League Bangers and Smash consolidated their good start with two more wins to maintain their 100% record. Jack Bounsall and Zachary Allen first dismissed Balls of Fury (Tristan Hyland and Joanne Perkins) 5-0, without conceding a set, although Bounsall’s win over Hyland was 11-9, 11-9. The Bangers then conceded their first game of the season in a 4-1 win over Awesome Blaze, in which Allen was unbeaten but Bounsall lost to Noah Willett. Willett also went the distance with Allen, as did Charlie Kenward with Bounsall.

Fiery Balls edged out TT Demons 3-2 in an even closer affair, with Reece Lincoln winning both games for the losers and Billy Kennedy-Carr and Charlie Morgan winning one each for Fiery Balls.

Fiery Balls were then whitewashed 5-0 by Balls of Fury’s Tristan Hyland and Joanne Perkins, although Kennedy-Carr took both to three sets.

In Division 2, early leaders Backspinners have been pegged back by recent results.

The Smashers had a comprehensive 5-0 win over Backspinners, with Brandon Moule and Jack Hatton unbeaten and both gaining narrow wins over previously unbeaten Holli Ferguson.

Backspinners bounced back with a 5-0 win over Ping Pong Wizards with maximums from Holli and Georgia Rose Ferguson, despite the efforts of Ciaran Potter for the losers.

Backspinners then suffered another defeat, 3-2 at the hands of Balls of Steel who had Simona Dyulgerova unbeaten.

Kai Potter’s maximum was decisive for Wacky Whackers in their 3-2 defeat of Ping Pong Wizards.

The Whackers then changed both players for their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Super Side Spinners for whom Samuel Ward won both his games.
