As expected, the race for the Division One title in the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League went to the wire before Bangers & Smash, represented by Zachary Allen and Charlie Kenward, took the honours.

Earlier, Unbelievable Tekkers won their game in hand against Lucky Edges 3-2 to draw level on points at the top. Jonah Davies was unbeaten for Lucky Edges but Joe Ackerly and reserve Holli Ferguson won one each before winning the doubles in three games for Tekkers.

Bangers & Smash needed to win their last match against Lucky Edgeswhich they achieved when they moved into a 3-0 lead before finishing 4-1 with Allen unbeaten and Kenward winning once.

On an adjacent table, Tekkers beat Fiery Balls 4-1 with Ackkerly and Jack Bounsall unbeaten, but to no avail.

At the foot of the table, TT Lads finished the season on a high, beating third-placed Balls of Fury 3-2 for their second win. Tristan Hyland won twice for the Fury while Louis Aubinet and Noah Willett won one each for TT Lads.

 

 

Division Two champions Tabletoppers ensured sets difference would not be required with a 5-0 win over Supersidespinners with Holli and Georgia Ferguson unbeaten.

The Smashers (Sacha Ward and Simona Dyulgerova) made a valiant attempt to snatch second place with two 5-0 wins but this was matched by Double Trouble (Kai and Ciaran Potter) who finished two points adrift of Tabletoppers.
