A series of one-sided contests in the Hastings & District Table Tennis League Division One resulted in the three leaders establishing a seven point gap over the chasing pack.

Champions Hollington Academy A were a player short, with Ryan Heselden joining Nathan Darby on the sick list, but still accounted for Bexhill B 7-3 with Paul Barry and Bashar Ubaid unbeaten.

The point dropped by the Academics enabled Saints A to increase their lead with a 10-0 defeat of Tackleway A in which Dave Butler, James Winchester and John Wond were unbeaten.

Bexhill A also took maximum points from a 9-1 win over Bexhill D when Robert Warner and David Rayment both won three and Ryan Warner two.

Hollington Academy B went ahead of their D side after beating them 9-1 with maximums for Rose Rainton and Tony Catt and two wins for Robin Gibbs.

It’s tight at the top of Division Two, where a single point covers the top three.

Saints B still lead after beating Monarchs A 7-3 with Jamie Martin unbeaten and Andy Syrett winning two, as did Bob Lowe for Monarchs. In the first set of the match Martin beat Lowe 3-0, all deuces, in a match between two players more used to the upper echelons of Division One.

Tackleway C are a point adrift after inching through 6-4 against Bexhill H for whom Tina Beaney won three. Danny Rickaby and Aaron Pain won twice for Tackleway.

Hollington A trail Tackleway C on sets after a 7-3 defeat of Tackleway E. Shaun Godfrey and Kevin Barry won three apiece and both players are still unbeaten this season.

Ryan Demeza was unbeaten for Hollington B who won 7-3 against a depleted Tigers A. Dave Mitchell won twice for Tigers.

Tackleway D and Nalgo A drew 5-5 with Paul Hyland unbeaten and Mike Courtnage winning two for Nalgo and Owen Hatter two for Tackleway.

Bexhill G beat Bexhill F 9-1 with maximums from Brian Beaney and Nick Coleman and two from John Bradbury.

In Division Three, two-man Monarchs B edged home 6-4 over Hollington D with Dave Turnbull unbeaten and Peter Harding winning twice.
