Unbelievable Tekkers are champions of the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League Division One after just edging out Awesome Blaze in the final set of matches where both teams had to face Bangers & Smash.

Awesome Blaze (Sacha Ward and Leo Marquesen) had to fight all the way for their 3-2 victory with Ward, who was unbeaten, beating Reece Lincoln in the final singles 13-11 in the third before joining with Marquesen for a doubles win by the same tight scoreline.

The Tekkers (Tristan Hyland and Ciaran Potter) had to beat Bangers & Smash for the title but had to come from 2-1 down to win 3-2 with Hyland winning twice. Earlier, Ciaran Potter had been edged out 9-11,11-9, 18-20 by brother Kai Potter in a marathon.

Balls of Fury took third place when they too beat Bangers & Smash 3-2 with one win each for Holli Ferguson and Georgia Ferguson. Lincoln was unbeaten for the losers in a match where all five contests went the distance.

In the only Division Two match, Tabletoppers  (Arun Selby and Grady-Lee Palmer) had to live up to their name against Ping Pong Wizards, which they did to take the title.

This pushed Balls of Steel (Joshua Frazer and Timothy Allen) back into second place on sets difference.

The Smashers (Ryan Humphreys and Megan White) finished third.
